War Memorial Langon

This memorial commemorates the residents of Langon who died in the First and Second World War. On the memorial is also a memorial plaque for the Russian Kotsour Stephan, Kotsour was as a prisoner of war forced to work in Bordeaux. He succeeded along with some inmates to escape in March 1944. Together with 13 Russians and a Pole, they formed a group that from Langon fought the German occupiers. On August 24th 1944, he was hit in the head by a bullet. He was buried in this cemetery.
