Commonwealth War Grave Laissac

On the General Cemetery in Laissac is a Commonwealth war grave. It is the grave of Captain Christopher James Lord of the Special Operations Executive, he was assassinated on May 15, 1943 by another agent. He is buried in a family tomb of the family Solinhac-Mariande, given that there are several plaques of the French Resistance on the grave, we assume that Lord together with a French resistance fighter is buried in the family tomb of this French resistance fighter.

The Special Operations Executive (SOE) was during World War II a British intelligence organization. The organization was involved in sabotage and guerrilla attacks against the Germans. It had contacts with opposition groups in various countries and worked with British agents and resistance fighters from occupied territory trained in Britain.
A total of 400 agents were dropped in France, of which 100 did not survive the war. Outside France, the organization was also active in Belgium and the Netherlands.

We like to add more information about the casualty buried in this grave. If you know more about this grave, please contact us.
