At the entrance to the cemetery next to the Sint-Pieterskerk is the war memorial of Emelgem.
At the feet of the Sacred Heart sits a kneeling soldier.
Next to it hang three memorial plaques.
On the left the text:
“1914 1918
Emelgem greets your heroes
Continue to mention their honor and fame.
O Sacred Heart
Remember our brave sons
Reward their heroic struggle
And remain as king
Dedicated to you by the people.
23 harvest 1925”
Next to it hang the names of the victims, alphabetically in two columns.
On the right hangs a black marble plaque with the names of the veterans of the First and Second World Wars.
