In the palace of the former Wadiyar Dynasty in MySuru, one can be the rich military history of the Kingdom of Mysuru in a painting that comes up with the entire sides in the Durbar Hal.
At the time of English rule in India, MySuru supplied soldiers for the British-Indian army.
The First Battalion Mysore Infantry was initially part of the 8th Indian Brigade and was involved in the Battle of Kota Bahru. On December 8, 1941 for the attack on Pearl Harbor, just after midnight the Japanese army attacked Kota Bahru. An English and Australian airport was located here and the First Battalion Mysore Infantry defended the airport. This was the first battle of the war in the Pacific.
The battalion then withdrew to Singapore and eventually had to surrender with the capitulation of Singapore on February 15, 1942 (photo 2)
The MySure Lancers can be seen on photo 4 and 5. This regiment was part of Indian 15TH (Imperial Service) Cavalry Brigade.
On September 23, 1918, this brigade captured Haifa after a daring attack on Austrian artillery position and a charge on German and Ottoman statement.
Haifa day is still celebrated in Israel and in India.
