The mill (German: Schlesische Mühlenwerke AG) was established in 1890 after a railway siding was built. At that time, industry flourished here.
There were residential and administrative buildings around it, and the Mill itself was a complex of brick (industrial) buildings with a silo (on the eastern side) connected to each other.
During World War II, there was a labour camp on the mill grounds, the inhabitants of which - forced labourers of various nationalities - were used as slave labour. About 300 employees stayed there. At the end of the war also labourers from Burgweide Labour Camp were working here.
