Memorial Death Marches Gut Glassau

This memorial on the Gut Glassau estate commemorates the victims of the death marches from KZ Klosterwerk / Blankenburg (outer camp Mittelbau-Dora) who were driven hundreds of kilometres across Germany from 6 April 1945 and shot dead by the SS along the way when they could go no further.

The survivors of the group of prisoners imprisoned in this barn on 14 April 1945, having endured further hardships in the meantime, were handed over to the Swedish Red Cross on 30 April and repatriated to Sweden via Lubeck.

At - http://www.getuigen.be/Getuigenis/Boeckmans-Louis/boeckmans-louis-tkst.htm, you can read the testimony (in Dutch) of Belgian former prisoner Louis Boeckmans, who was confined in this barn.
