Memorial to fallen Resistance Fighters Ambrault

This memorial commemorates the seven resistance fighters who died fighting with the Germans at this site on 20 and 31 August 1944. The text on the monument reads:

'Ici Les 20 et 31 aout 1944 sept heros des Francaises Forces de l' Interieur sont tombes tous les balles Allemandes pour que 'Vive la France'

'Seven heroes of the French Interior Forces fell by German bullets here on 20 and 31 August 1944, so that France could live on' “Vive la France”
