Memorial honoring the North Shore (New Brunswick) Regiment. The memorial bears the following text:
On June 6th 1944, soldiers of the North Shore (New Brunswick) Regiment, Canada, took part in the D-Day landings here at Sector Red. The first village they helped liberate was Saint-Aubin-sur-Mer, the starting point of a long journey to liberate an oppressed Europe. The men of the North Shore (NB) Regiment came from humble and modest backgrounds, spoke different languages, and derived various cultures. Bonded by a common desire for a peaceful future, many paid the ultimate sacrifice. This plaque commemorates anniversary of this event, and brings together the people of the Noth Shore region of New Brunswick and the people of Saint-Aubin-sur-Mer to honour and remember the soldiers of the North Shore (NB) Regiment.
