Tobruk Bernières-sur-Mer

This Tobruk is a small concrete bunker with an opening at the top from which a machine gun could be fired. The name comes from the place Tobruk in Libya, where the Germans first encountered this originally Italian design. Subsequently, thousands of them were built in the Atlantic Wall.
