Memorial Newport

The Lighthouse Educational Foundation building has a plaque on it:

“ Newport District
Nursing Association
These premises were purchased
as a war memorial home
to perpetuate the memory
of those who fell
in the Great War a.d. 1914-1918.

“ They passed out of sight by the path
of sacrifice and the gate of death.”

The “Lighthouse Educational Foundation” is established in 2010 as a charitable trust. The organisation aims to fund all forms of primary care education and ultimately improve healthcare for the island’s population. They work proactively to fund and organise education/courses to support staff in clinical and non-clinical roles.
Through this organisation many islanders have been able to continue their education with general and specific training.
