This monument commemorates the residents of Landstuhl who fought in the Franco-Prussian War between 1870 and 1871.
The monument, which was unveiled on June 18, 1911, bears the inscription:
“Kämpfern für Deutschlands Einigkeit und Größe zum Gedächtnis”
“In memory of the fighters for the unity and greatness of Germany.”
and the names of 124 soldiers, two of whom did not return.
