Memorial to the Victims of the Huy Concentration Camps

At the beginning of the walkway to the fort is the monument to the victims of the concentration camps.
On the wall hang three commemorative plaques.

Left: “ To the armed forces of the United States of America
who liberated the city of Huy on 6 September 1944,
To the prisoners held captive in the fort,
To the prisoners who died in the fort,
To the prisoners who were shot at the foot of the fort,
To the civilian and military victims,
To the various forms of resistance.”
This commemorative plaque was installed on 6 September 2014 as a tribute on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the liberation of the city.

Middle: “ Tribute to the miners
of Nord-Pas-de-Calais
Resisted the occupier in May and June 1941,
were deported to Huy and from there to Sachsenhausen.
They fought for freedom and a better life.”

Right: "Young people, remember!
50 years ago, the Allies liberated
the Nazi concentration camps,
where ten million women, men,
and children of all races and opinions,
were exterminated.
Never again!"
