Memorial to the French Resistance

This monument next to the old prison gate honours the French Resistance and the Free French Forces during the Second World War. The monument consists of three Corten steel components, two of which feature the symbol of the Free French, a cross of Lorraine. The inscription on the monument reads:

'18 Juin 1940- 8 mai 1945
Hommage et Reconaissance aux Français libres et Résistance de l'intérieur'

'18 June 1940 - 8 May 1945
Tribute and recognition to the Free French and the domestic resistance'
