War Memorial Mochos

This monument in Mochos, Crete, commemorates the fallen of Mochos, specifically Lieutenant Colonel Manolis Giakoumakis, who was executed by occupation forces during World War II.
The monument is located in the mountainous village of Mochos, within the Municipality of Hersonissos. It serves as a tribute to the individuals from the area who died during the Greek wars, with the names of the fallen engraved on a marble stele.
The stele is topped with an eagle and was crafted by Tinios Ioannis Karpakis.
It is a place where visitors can reflect on the sacrifices made by the local population during wartime.
