Monument Battle of Kritsa

Under the old Lato, a monument has been placed to commemorate the historic Battle of Kritsa, which took place in January 1823, a significant moment in local history.

The statue, created by British artist Nigel Ratcliffe, portrays the wounded Rodanthi being cradled by a warrior. Rodanthi, was a woman who disguised herself as a man to take part in the battle.
