This plaque on the wall of her parents' house commemorates Agnès de La Barre de Nanteuil, Vannes 1922 - Paray-le-Monial 1944.
Agnès de La Barre de Nanteuil, also Agnès de Nanteuil, was born in Neuilly-sur-Seine in 1922. Moving to Brittany as a teenager, at the beginning of WW2 she joined the French Resistance and assisted allied airmen escape from the Nazis in occupied France. Returning from a mission in March 1944, she was arrested by the Gestapo and severely interrogated. She died on 13 August 1944 at the Paray-le-Monial railway station from injuries sustained while being deported by train to Germany.
In 1947, she was posthumously awarded the Resistance Medal by Charles de Gaulle.
