Monument Garibaldi Lachalade

This monument was built on the initiative of the National Association of War Volunteers of Italy. It was inaugurated on April 21, 1932. It is dedicated to the memory of 590 Italian volunteers who died in the fighting in the Argonne, among whom Bruno Garibaldi, who died on the Bolante plateau, December 26, 1914 and his brother Constante Garibaldi, killed at Courte-Chausse, January 5, 1915.
They are among the few victims reburied during the war in Italy.

They were the grandsons of Giuseppe Garibaldi. He is considered, together with Camillo Cavour, Victor Emmanuel II and Giuseppe Mazzini, one of the "fathers of the Italian fatherland
