Trenches Montauville

Between January and August 1915, the 73rd and 128th divisions lost 7,000 dead and 22,000 wounded.
The Germans suffered similar losses.
The text urges passersby to respect this "sacred ground."

A specific three-hectare area behind "La Croix des Carmes" was designated as a war memorial in 1925 and has not been wooded since then.

Thanks to this initiative, many meters of original trenches with barbed wire and steel structures can be found.
