Aid Station Farm "Angelino"

In May 1940, this farm was established as a so-called "aid post," or a wounded shelter, for the defense sector of the 44th Infantry Regiment. This unit had been assigned to defend this section of the Betuwe Line in May 1940.

Wounded soldiers could be transported from this aid post by stretcher or wounded vehicle to a wounded aid station. A wounded aid station was located approximately 2 kilometers behind each regiment's defense line.

During this period the Angelino family lived on this farm.
