First Aid Station "Huize Oosterveld"

The farm was built in 1900 and, in May 1940, was set up as a so-called "supplementary aid station," or a wounded shelter, for the units defending the Betuwe Line. The 2nd Division, 22nd Artillery Regiment, was positioned near this aid station.

Wounded soldiers could be transported from an aid station to an aid station by stretcher or vehicle. An aid station was located approximately 2 kilometers behind each regiment's defense line.
