Bunker BM-35 at Maizeret

This is bunker BM-37. The initials BM refer to ‘Bâtiment Militaire’, which translates to military building. The bunker is located in the ‘Meuse amont-Meuse aval’ sector. This bunker is located between Fort Maizeret and Fort Andoy in La Position Fortifiée de Namur (PFN).

It is a large type of bunker with two gun ports for heavy machine guns. This bunker also had an F.M. (Fusille Mitrailleuse) type turret. A turret in which a machine gun was placed that could be operated from below in the bunker.

The horse in the opening of one of the gun ports shows how large these bunkers are.
