War Memorial Großenaspe

This monument, in the form of a square pedestal topped by a cross (in the shape of the Iron Cross), commemorates the soldiers from Großenaspe who fell in the First World War. Inscriptions have been placed on the four sides of the pedestal:

'1914 - 1918 Our heroes, the municipality of Großenaspe'
“No one has greater love than this, that he lay down his life for his friends”
'To the Fatherland, join us, dear ones'
'We want to be one united people of brothers'

(“1914 - 1918 To our heroes, the municipality of Großenaspe”
'No one has greater love than he who lays down his life for his friends'
“Fatherland, take us into your heart”
'We want to be one people of brothers')

Name plates of the fallen are affixed around the monument.
