The Museum - Headquarters of the Therisso Revolution, housed in the building that served as headquarters for the armed movement Therisso, led by Eleftherios Venizelos, at the request of the Union of Crete with Greece and the expulsion of Prince George of Crete in March 1905.
In addition to the movement's flag bearing the phrase "Therisso 1905," the museum displays the press used to produce the revolutionary government's newspaper and a uniform of the Cretan gendarmerie. There is also a wealth of photographic and archival material, newspapers from the period, uniforms, and other important relics, etc.
There is mainly a collection of photos of resistance fighters, but there are also display cases with weapons, a printing press, and a German generator.
3 Bofors 40mm anti-aircraft guns and an American double-barreled gun.
Incidentally, the artillery pieces are all WW2 equipment, but all built after 1942, so presumably later than 1945 and subsequently delivered to Greece. Knowing that the Allied troops there only had light equipment, and what they did have was rendered unusable in 1941 or confiscated by the Germans.
