Rock Beiaard Memorial

This memorial was erected in 1947 to commemorate an event that occurred on December 24, 1944, during the Battle of the Bulge.

On this day, a vehicle carrying three German soldiers disguised as American soldiers was intercepted at Beiaard Rock, near the village of Dinant in the Belgian Ardennes. They were part of Operation Greif, a sabotage unit commanded by Otto Skorzeny.

The location marks the furthest point westward reached by the German army during the Battle of the Bulge.
