War Memorial Heure

This monument was erected in memory of the residents of the village of Heure who died during the First and Second World Wars.

Next to the monument is an information board explaining an event that occurred on August 20, 1914. On that day, 15 villagers were arrested on suspicion of firing on German troops.

Four of them were sentenced to death by a court-martial and executed. A memorial now stands at the site of this execution, located on private property.
