Sacred Heart Chapel Somme-Leuze

The chapel was built in 1919 by parishioners of Somme-Leuze because they had been spared the massacres of 20 August 1914.
On that day, eleven innocent civilians were murdered by the Germans and twenty houses were burned down. Eight men were arrested and deported.
There is a memorial tree planted on 9 November 2018, to commemorate the centenary of the end of the First World War.
