Aid Station Barnanval

This house in the hamlet of Bernanval near Tracy-le-Mont was used as a first aid post during the First World War. The façade still bears a red cross and a quatrain entitled La Pansée:

'Whether you have a fever or are wounded,
Whether you are sometimes too tormented,
Come in here, good hairy man, everyone's efforts
Will heal you and make you strong.'
