Memorial Cox Brothers Somerton

On the outside wall of Lancaster House, better known as the baker 'Burns the Bread' is a memorial to brothers Arthur and John Cox.

dedicated to the everlasting memory of two brothers
who lived on this site. Sergeant H.A.M. Cox, No 97
Squadron Royal Air Force killed in action over
Augsburg April 17th 1942 and Private J.H. Cox, 1st
Battalion The Gordon Highlanders killed in action
Caen 18th June 1944."

Arthur Meaker Cox. Sergeant. 1180183. 97 Sqdn RAFVR. Died 17 Apr 1942. Buried Durnbach War Cemetery, Germany. (Mentioned in Despatches)
John Hugh Cox. Private. 14254173. 1st Bn. Gordon Highlanders. Died 16 June 1944. Aged 21. Buried Banneville-La-Campagne War Cemetery, France.
