St Michael and All Angels Church contains several memorial to those who have served.

"To the Glory of God in loving memory of Ernest Brocklesby Wesche, S Lancs. Regiment killed in action in the Cameroons Oct 19th 1914. On we go"
E.B. Wesche. Captain. South Lancashire Regiment attached Nigeria Regiment W.A.F.F. Died 19 Oct 1914. Commemorated on Ibadan Memorial, Nigeria. (Royal West African Frontier Force established in 1900)

"In memory of Admiral William Henry Brown Tremlett, Royal Navy, who died at Stonehouse, Devon, on Nov 11th.1865. Aged 94."
Served throughout the Coalition Wars, not always gloriously.

"The Hon William Ruthven, Son of Lord Ruthven. Ensign in the Old Buffs, died at Somerton the 9th of June 1756, aged 22."

"In memory of George Neat Tremlett, Esq, Commander Royal Navy, who died on April 20th 1865 Aged 97. At the time of his demise he was the oldest officer in the Navy which service he joined in 1780."

"In proud and loving memory of Giles Robert Pretor-Pinney, Lieut-Commander Royal Navy of Somerton Erleigh, Killed in action 2nd March 1942 in command of HMS Stronghold during the Battle of the Java Seas. Also to the Officers & Ships Company who lost their lives with him in the service of their Country."
G.R. Pretor-Pinney. Lieutenant Commander. HMS Stronghold. Died 2 mar 1942. Aged 44. Commemorated on Plymouth Naval Memorial.
HMS Stronghold was an 's' class destroyer launched in 1919. At the outbreak of WW2 she was based in Singapore. Later operating out of Fremantle she was spotted a Japanese reconnaissance seaplane and engaged by the heavy cruiser Maya, and destroyers Arashi and Nowaki and sunk with the loss of 70 lives.

"To the Glory of God and in ever loving memory of Private Norman Harding of the 2nd Hants Regiment. The dearly beloved younger son of F.G. and H.H. Harding of Somerton Mill, who died at Ypres March 13th 1918, aged 19 years. Interred in North Cemetery Ypres. God took him to a higher service."
N. Harding. Private. 42310. 2nd Bn. Hampshire regiment. Died 13 mar 1918. Aged 19. Buried Ypres Reservoir Cemetery, Belgium.
