Wojtek the Soldier Bear Memorial
In Princes Street Gardens stands the monument commemorating Wojtek the Soldier Bear.
Wojtek the bear was adopted as a cub by the 22nd Artillery Supply Company of the Polish Army and became an honorary member as enlisted private. The bear himself died at Edinburgh Zoo in 1963.
The monument, erected in 2017, is now an iconic Edinburgh World Heritage monument.
