This revetment was part of the inundation quay from the Nauernasche Vaart canal to De Dam. Twenty ditch passages served for drainage and had to be closed in the event of inundation. Each ditch was provided with a clay deposit; seven wider ditches were narrowed and revetted with oak to prevent erosion. All the clay deposits have disappeared. The seven revetment passages are recognizable, six with remnants. The best preserved are in the Noorderham (4 m) and Overtoomsloot (3.5 m).
