Remembrance Stone Josef Grimm and Georg Hangl

On 28 April 1945, Josef Grimm, pastor of Götting and Georg Hangl, teacher of Götting, were shot by SS-soldiers because they replaced the swastika flag on the church-tower for the flag of Bavaria, one day before the change of power in Bavaria.

On 1600 hours, Josef Grimm was executed in the woods near this memorial. Three hours later, Georg Hangl was shot "on the run".
