Marshal Grouchy's presence at Gembloux in June 1815, during the Battle of Waterloo. Emmanuel de Grouchy, Marquis, was born on 23 October 1766, in Paris and died on 29 May 1847, in Saint-Étienne.
He was a general during the French Revolution and the Empire. Later, he became Marshal of the Empire, Count of the Empire, and Grand Eagle of the Legion of Honor. He is buried in Père-Lachaise Cemetery, and his name is inscribed on the Arc de Triomphe in Paris.
