"County Hall was the County Headquarters of the Women's Land Army during World War II. This tribute is for the women of Great Britain and our Allies who served with courage in the Land Army. The factories, the services, the W.V.S. and the Home Front in the Two World Wars women were vital towards final victory. Their sacrifices and bravery should always be remembered. 23rd November 2005."
