From 3 to 7 june 1945, in these barracks, a mass murder took place on residents of Postoloprty and Žatec, of German ancestry, as revenge for the German cruelties in World War II. The murder was done by the First Czeckoslovakian Division under command of General Spaniel.
The number of victims is estimated on about 2000. In 1947, 763 bodies were found in a mass grave and cremated. The surviving residents were expulsed in 1946.
On 3 june 2010, a remembrance plaque on Postoloprty cemetery is revealed.
