In 1970, a Soviet honorary plot was established in Burg's western cemetery for soldiers who died in the region during the fighting in the spring of 1945 or as prisoners of war or forced laborers. Members of the occupying forces continued to be buried there after 1945.
The cenotaph is in the form of a wall with a T34 at its center, symbolizing the victory over Germany.
Originally, there were 538 individual and mass graves around the cenotaph.
Today, bronze panels are placed on both sides, listing the 552 names of the deceased, arranged alphabetically by rank, name, and dates of birth and death in Cyrillic.
Thirteen could not be identified.
On the left side is the motto: "Eternal memory to the Soviet heroes."
