German War Graves Fourdrain

The cemetery was established by the French administration as a collective burial ground for the German soldiers who died in 18 surrounding municipalities and the cemetery of La Bovette
1,907 German and one Austro-Hungarian soldier are commemorated.

After the German invasion, several field hospitals were established in Fourdain, which received the seriously wounded from the battles at Chemin-des-Dames and the Soissons-St. Quentin region in 1915 and 1917. Later, they also received those from the battles in the summer and autumn of 1918.
There are 1,261 individual graves, four of which are unidentified, and the communal grave contains 646 fallen soldiers, of whom only 15 could be identified.
There are three stelae for the fallen soldiers who pledged their faith in the Hebrew religion.
