War Monument Offenburg

The war memorial for the Franco-German War of 1870/71 was unveiled on the 4 June 1893, in honor of the fallen soldiers of the city of Offenburg.

At the top is a Baden soldier with a banner supporting a fallen comrade.
Below, the inscription reads: "1870-71 Our brave sons, the grateful city of Offenburg."
On the sides are two bronze medallions depicting Emperor Wilhelm I and Grand Duke Frederick of Baden in profile.
Below the text is the Prussian eagle with outstretched wings and laurel wreath.

The monument was designed by the sculptor Wilhelm Sauer.
