Memorial Alte Mauth Bamberg

A memorial plaque hangs on the side of the house on the corner of Mautgasse and Grüner Markt:
"Here stood the
Alte Mauth
destroyed by
war damage
1944-1945"

The historic building dates back to 1364.
On February 22, 1945, the facade facing Grüner Markt was damaged by high-explosive bombs. In April 1945, the building was destroyed by artillery fire.
