Memorial stone at the former New Synagogue

The memorial commemorates the destruction (November 9, 1938) of the former New Synagogue.

Dedicated in 1969, the memorial is located below the Mühlenwall (Mill Wall) on Bismarckstrasse, opposite the site of the former New Synagogue, which no longer exists, having been destroyed during Kristallnacht in 1938.

The bronze plaque depicts a menorah. A bronze plaque embedded in the ground bears the inscription: "Are we not all children of one Father? Did not one God create us?"
