War Graves Walsrode

A total of 213 victims of war and terror are buried at the Ev. Friedhof Saarstraße. The central right-hand section contains 114 German soldiers and several civilians who died in Walsrode or in military hospitals, primarily during the final fighting in April 1945.

Since 1959, the so-called Foreigners' Cemetery has been located at the rear of the cemetery, where 99 victims from various countries have been reburied. These include 31 women and 68 men who died between 1941 and 1945, ranging in age from 16 to 87. Among them are Soviet citizens, Belgians, Poles, Dutch, Yugoslavs, and others.
