Museum "Villa ten Hompel"

In this mansion "Ten Hompel" was, from April 1940 to the end of World War II, the headquarters of the Ordnungspolizei for the region Wehrbezirk VI. From here, 20 police batallions were send throughout Europe and personnel for guarding deportations and labour camps were arranged. Here was the command over in total 200.000 men.

Nowadays it is a remembrance place with permanent exhibitions about World War II. There is also an archive and a library.
