This memorial in the form of an information board stands on the spot where, on 29 June 1941, thousands of Jews were arrested and gathered together on the orders of Ion Antonescu's regime. Romanian soldiers and police, with the help of the Germans, were responsible for the deaths of an estimated 13,266 Jews who were either murdered on the spot or crammed into trains where they perished.
