Memorial Synagogue Wittmund

This memorial commemorates the synagogue of Wittmund, which was located here. After the National-Socialists took power in 1933, most Jews fled from Wittmund. The synagogue was no longer used and was sold in June 1938. After that, it was immediately demolished.

On 16 April 1940, Wittmund was officially declared "Judenfrei" (Free from Jews).
