Belgian War Graves Maaseik Cemetery Aldeneik

The Aldeniek cemetery in Maaseik contains the grave of a soldier who fell during the Second World War. It concerns COOLEN Petrus, soldier 44th Line, Bruges 9 June 1940.

There is also a commemorative plaque in memory of Jaak LANGERS, a resistance fighter who was executed in Gangelt (G) on 14 September 1944.
Jaak LANGERS was shot along with six other resistance fighters by Belgian collaborators after having dug their own graves in the woods near Gangelt (D).
