This list of war graves in the old cemetery in Maaseik is, of course, incomplete. Unfortunately some graves have become unrecognizable.
The old cemetery in Maaseik contains the grave of Charles GIELEN, 24 years old, resistance fighter, who was shot in Maaseik on 4 September 1944 by retreating Germans.
The following Maaseik residents who were executed in Opglabbeek on 11 September 1944 also rest in the cemetery:

Huberta VLIEXS, 21 years old
Pierre PASPONT, 20 years old, resistance fighter
René COOLEN, 19 years old, resistance fighter
Henri DIRKS, 18 years old, resistance fighter
Joseph DIRKS, 18 years old resistance fighter
The cemetery also contains the grave of the following Maaseik residents who were executed on 12 September 1944, in Heer currently Cadier en Keer (Netherlands):
Guillaume Jozef Hubert LANGERS, Maaseik, 21 years old;
Mathieu Jan Jozef LENDERS, Maaseik, 19 years old.
Jules Leopold August WOLFS, Maaseik, 21 years old;
Jan Martin August WOLFS, Maaseik, 21 years old.
Other graves from the Second World War include:
Maurice HABETS, Corporal Limburg Border Cyclists, Geilenkirchen (G) 15 May 1940;
Albert VANDENBOSCH, aged 28, who fell for the Fatherland in Maaseik on 29 September 1944;
Theo RAETS, 21 years old, who was murdered in Borsdorf (G) on 20 April 1945.
There is the grave of Henri SIJBERS sergeant V.V.E. 10th Wing at Kleine-Brogel, victim of the plane crash at Sake-Masisi (Congo) on 19 July 1960. 41 soldiers were killed in that crash, including 36 members of the VVE 10th Wing Air Force and the five crew members of the C-119 Flying Boxcar.
