Inscription on the monument: Here lie, of the 5th Battalion, Sergeant Hentschel, pioneers Klante, Möschner, Rux, as well as 11 German and 5 French soldiers. In 1870/71, Second Lieutenant Müller, Corporal Irrgang, pioneers Andrzjwski, Bruckmann, Franke, Fritsch, Hähnel, Hansch, Metko, Stemmer, Weigelt, and Wochalski also fell as heroes. Wounded: Captain Scheibert, Captain von Klaedene, First Lieutenant von Eyss, Second Lieutenant Karnasch, as well as 5 non-commissioned officers, 8 corporals, and 26 pioneers. In gratitude to the senior and junior members of the 5th Battalion, founded and dedicated on August 6, 1910, to the 5th Pioneer Battalion of Lower Silesia, in memory of the heroes, an example for future generations! The current eagle is an exact copy of the bronze eagle that was stolen in April 2006.
