Memorial 75th Anniversary of the Defence of Cowes

This memorial commemorates the 75th anniversary of the defence of Cowes by the ship ORP Blyskawica, a Polish destroyer, built in Cowes, which fled to England at the start of the Second World War. In the night from 4 to 5 May 1942, the ship defended Cowes against a German air raid.
