Memorial Sgt. Pilot John Keatinge Haire

This memorial commemorates Sgt. Pilot John Keatinge Haire who was killed during the Battle of Britain when his plane crashed nearby on 6 November 1940. He sacrificed himself swerving away from crashing into the village of Arreton and ultimately paid the ultimate sacrifice to save others.
