Westwall-Museum Besseringen

This bunker at Besseringen is the only remaining bunker "B-Werk" of the West Wall. This type was the heaviest type of the West Wall, with walls and roof of 1.5 meters thick. The surface of the bunker was 17.80 by 24.60 metres and the bunker could hold 90 soldiers, who could survive for 30 days in the bunker. The bunker was built in 1938-1939, using about 2800 m3 of concrete and 200 tons of steel. A total of 32 bunkers of this type was built.

The bunker in Besseringen is partly accessible to the public.
